Speaker: Ivica Ducic MD, PhD Clinical Professor of Surgery
Ivica Ducic, MD,PhD, is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with additional training and expertise in Peripheral Nerve Surgery. He received medical degree in 1991 from University of Zagreb School of Medicine (Croatia, Europe), and a Ph.D. degree in 1995 in neurosciences. Upon completing six-year Plastic Surgery training at Georgetown University Hospital in 2002, he entered a one-year peripheral nerve surgery fellowship at the Institute for Peripheral Nerve Surgery. He then joined the full time faculty practice at Georgetown University Hospital Department of Plastic Surgery in August 2003, where he stayed until mid 2014, as the Professor of Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery, and a Founder/Director of Peripheral Nerve Surgery Institute. As of 2014, Dr. Ducic established his own practice: Washington Nerve Institute in McLean, VA, just across the river form Washington DC. Among many accomplishments, Dr. Ducic is the Past-President of American Society for Peripheral Nerve and is currently President-Elect of National Capital Society of Plastic Surgeons. He served on many committees, led nerve section as journal editor, published over 90 peer-reviewed papers, 15 book chapters, presented about 90 studies on national and international meetings, and was featured in many media. With over 150 invited lectures, due to his expertise in nerve surgery and approach to nerve injuries, Dr. Ducic often lectures as a Visiting Professor on many national and international events.
