Healing potential of an existing bone fracture can also be influenced or delayed by nutrition. This lecture will focus mainly on nutrition affecting bone health, specifically discussing women nutrition in the context of sports as well as Vitamin D deficiency affecting bone health. Learning Objectives: Lecture Objectives: • Review updated guidelines and definition of Female Athlete Triad and its effect on stress fractures • Identify Relative Energy Deficiency syndrome in female athlete • Review mechanism of action of Vitamin D and its effect on bone health • Review current recommendation of Vitamin D and bone health |
